My career has taken me around an interesting track, for sure. I have a BA in Socio-cultural Anthropology and Journalism from the University of Rochester and an MA in Writing from Emerson College in Boston. I am naturally curious and a keen observer, both of which have served me well in my teaching and lifelong yogic education. I first took a yoga class waaaay back in college but found yoga calling to me deeply 10 years ago as I struggled with the demands of being a new wife and mother.
In 2012 I completed my 200-hour vinyasa training under Natasha Rizopoulos of Yoga Works; my specialty, however, is therapeutic restorative yoga. I am a Certified Relax and Renew trainer under the guidance of Judith Hanson Lasater, PhD.
My classes are for everyone and anyone – experienced yogi or not, injured, pregnant, or recovering from illness.
When not practicing or teaching yoga you can find me chasing after 3 active little boys, swimming laps, trying to learn something new – French, software programs, anatomy – attempting to complete a Boston Globe Sunday Crossword with no mistakes, reading books about adventurous women (I’m fascinated by Amelia Earhart and Beryl Markham), and dreaming of travels. I am also a copy editor. Read more about my professional editing experience here.
My wellness training to date includes:
200-hr Yogaworks training with Natasha Rizopoulos
15-hr Art of Alignment and Assisting – Down Under Yoga, Newtonville MA
25-hr Relax and Renew – Judith Hanson Lasater, Back Bay Yoga, Boston
500+ hours of teaching experience (private and group)
